The Boys of Summer ~ American Legion Baseball is in Full Swing at Rich Park

Have you ever felt like you were a character in a Norman Rockwell painting?  Mocksville-Davie American Legion Baseball at Mando Field in Rich Park on a summer evening is like a live version of a Norman Rockwell Painting.

Mando Field at Rich Park provides the perfect setting for an evening of baseball and it might remind you of the movie “Field of Dreams.”   There is plenty of shade and usually a nice cool breeze, night lights and great food, and fans doing the wave on the hill that parallels the first base line.

The enclosed bleachers offer seating to those with more formal baseball watching tastes while the hill along the first-base line provides seating for those with lawn chairs and blankets.  Baseball at Rich Park is a great family friendly affair with hotdogs all-the-way, roasted peanuts and popcorn and crackerjacks, sunflower seeds, and of course, Cheer-Wine and other soft-drinks.

Davie County has a rich baseball history and the Mocksville-Davie American Legion Baseball Teams are chasing the 2011 pennant almost every evening at Rich Park in Mocksville.  With 28 games scheduled in 35 days, these boys of summer are playing because they love the game of baseball!  We hope to see you all at Rich Park!
