Bermuda Run has grown to be more than a gated community and now includes hotels, restaurants, housing developments and more along stretches of highways 801 and 158. The celebration served as an opportunity for the community at large to learn more about Bermuda Run and how it supports the overall community and its residents.
Recent developments, from WinMock at Kinderton to Wake Forest Baptist Health Davie Medical Center, have made the Town of Bermuda Run an even more visible and important contributor to the Davie County.
As reported in the Winston Salem Journal, “That such a celebration will be outside the gated neighborhoods of Bermuda Run and Bermuda Run West is a telling indicator that the town has moved beyond its country club origins.”
Live Music, Food and Family Friendly Activities
Folks enjoyed live music from the band Chasing Daylight, family friendly activities, food and much more. There was a bounce house and inflatable slide for the kids, corn-hole boards and 10 foot by 10 foot checker checkerboard for family fun.
This event was one of the first of its kind held at the Kinderton Gazebo and Green in the Kinderton Commercial Center. The Town hopes that by hosting this event, more groups will consider this location as the setting for future events.
“Kinderton is a great asset to the community and offers a venue to host various types of activities that lend to creating a vibrant area. It helps build a sense of community, encourage residents to support small businesses, and overall contribute to a highly sought after living environment. The Town is excited to host this event which we believe will enable many to view our community through a different lens,” said Town Manager Lee Rollins.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone anniversary with the community, and look forward to continuing the festivities throughout the year with other events and community initiatives,” commented Mayor Ken Rethmeier.
