Manufacturing Day Teaches 7th Graders About Career Opportunities in Davie County

Davie County’s 7th-grade students recently got a jump start on career exploration with unique behind-the-scenes tours of several local businesses and manufacturers as part of Manufacturing Day 2022.  Students from Ellis, North Davie, and South Davie Middle Schools each toured two different locations, including Dex Heavy Duty Parts, Fuller Welding & Fabricators, Gildan, Pro Refrigeration, Rise Indoor Sports, and a Davie Construction project at the old high school. Kaplan Early Learning Company to Open Warehouse in Mocksville

Kaplan Early Learning Company, an international provider of preschool products that enhance learning for children ages birth to age 8, has chosen Mocksville to expand the warehousing capacity for one of its affiliates, Guidecraft.  Guidecraft, which designs, manufactures, and sells educational toys and creative furniture, will move its products to Mocksville from its previous warehouse space in New Jersey. Nine Davie County Schools educators recently became students as they toured area companies to gain a deeper understanding of the skills needed by employers that will help their students find meaningful careers and help the local industry to grow. Liberty Storage Solutions Breaks Ground on Mocksville Expansion 

Liberty Storage Solutions, which designs and manufactures everything from simple storage buildings to elaborate man-caves and chic she-sheds, celebrated the start of its expansion in Davie County with a groundbreaking ceremony on April 25th.  From its humble beginnings in a 40 X 40 barn in Rowan County, the company has outgrown its 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 163 Industrial Boulevard in Mocksville and has purchased 56 acres nearby to expand. Economic Development Continues: Davie County to Get Four New Spec Buildings

After gaining an impressive six new industrial partners last year, Davie County is focusing on the next wave of development by replenishing its inventory of buildings.    Four additional industrial spec facilities, ranging from 130,000 to 500,000 SF, are in the planning stages or under construction to replace those filled by Hayward Holdings, Sportsfield Specialties, DFA, Scott Bader, and Palltronics.
