The holiday season is in full swing! As you make your plans this weekend, include a stop at the annual Advance Christmas parade presented by the Advance Fire Department. Free Family Event – Winterfest Coming to Mocksville This Saturday, December 2nd!

Downtown Mocksville will continue it’s holiday celebrations with Winterfest on Saturday, December 2nd from noon- 5:00 p.m. at Junker’s Mill followed by a free holiday concert at the Brock at 7:00 p.m. New This Year! Progressive Storybook! This FREE family fun event will feature a progressive storybook “The Snowy Day” (a walking storybook promoted through the Davie County Public Library). As family and friends gather together for Thanksgiving this week, the 2017 “War Eagles Christmas” ornament is a perfect gift idea for this holiday season. This ornament commemorates Davie County High School, the sole traditional high school in the Davie County system for 61 years. This Weekend – Friday Night Bed Races, Christmas Parade and Winterfest Coming to Mocksville!

Races Friday night, Parade Saturday Historic Downtown Mocksville will race into the Christmas season this Friday night, November 17th as 15 intrepid teams from local businesses, non-profits, WXII-12 News, and CW Channel 20.1 take part in the 6th annual “Twas the Night Before” Bed Races. The festivities will begin with the lighting of the downtown businesses at dusk followed by the Parade of Beds at 6 pm. The bed races will begin at 6:15 as CW takes on WXII. Students Explore Career Options as Davie County Celebrates Manufacturing Day 2017

To celebrate Manufacturing Day 2017, several local businesses and Davie County manufacturers provided a unique opportunity for all eighth-grade students in Davie County. Davie County participated in National Manufacturing Day for the first time this year through the collaborative efforts of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce, Davie County Schools, Davie County Economic Development, DCCC and the Davie business community. Free Books for Davie County Children! Smart Start Receives Funding to Expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Across NC

The love of reading begins in a parent’s arms. Snuggling together with a good book creates connections that help build young children’s brains and conditions their minds and memories. For the past 10 years, Smart Start of Davie County has been raising funds to provide free books to the county’s youngest readers through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
