Davie County Schools is continuing to make strides in addressing key challenges to kindergarten readiness. Through DavieLEADS, a partnership with the Mebane Foundation, Davie County has had the unique opportunity to pilot solutions that can move the needle in early childhood education. From the outset, Peggy Nuckolls, director of preschool services, and Stephanie Nelson, preschool collaborative teacher, identified the need for better assessment tools. Pro Refrigeration Expanding Production at Mocksville Manufacturing Plant

Pro Chiller Systems has announced that it will shift the production of all standard equipment from its Auburn, Washington headquarters to its east coast manufacturing facility located in Mocksville, NC effective June 30th. Pro Refrigeration designs, manufactures, and distributes state-of-the-art refrigeration systems for the dairy, winery, food processing, medical, and brewing industries. Since opening in North Carolina in 2013, the percentage of equipment produced in North Carolina versus Washington has steadily increased reaching a 75% (NC) to 25% (WA) split in 2018. Substance Abuse Family Education (SAFE) members will host their first annual Superhero Gala on Saturday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center on North Main Street in Mocksville.
