Camp COGNITION Will Make Summer Learning Fun! 

Looking for something fun for your kids to do this summer? Celebrate 30 Years! – Mocksville to Hold Arbor Day Celebration on April 29th

The Town of Mocksville will be celebrating its 30th year as Tree City USA and Arbor Day 2023 on Friday, April 28th. You are invited to attend the recognition ceremony at 10 a.m. in the gym of the Davie Family YMCA, 215 Cemetery Street.   During the celebration, Mayor Will Marklin will read the Arbor Day proclamation, and Ranger Michael Huffman from the North Carolina Forest Service will present the Tree City USA 2022 Award.  Because of the rainy forecast, Huffman will present a short tree-related program for students from Mocksville Elementary School in lieu of planting trees at Rich Park […]

Children play on new equipment at Cooleemee Park

Cooleemee Park Gets New Playground Equipment

With a new playset and fresh mulch, Cooleemee Park is getting a facelift. The playset, purchased with a grant from Davie County Recreation & Parks, replaces an outdated wooden structure and features a slide, bridge, swings, and a climbing section.  “We hope that all the kids really enjoy this new playset,” said Town Clerk Aaron Thies, thanking Recreation & Parks for the grant that made it possible. He also expressed his gratitude to Hendrix Manufacturing of Woodleaf for donating the mulch, which has beautified the park, and Willard’s Grading for fixing the driveway, grading, and spreading the mulch.  Stay Tuned for More!
