best-of-davie-logo-2016Everyone has their favorites –the restaurant that serves that special dish, the stylist who always gets your haircut just right, or the boutique that always has the perfect gift. Well it’s time again to give those businesses the recognition they deserve by voting online today for “THE BEST” in 16 categories in the 4th Annual Best of Davie Awards!

We all know just how special our community is—and judging from all the new businesses and enterprises choosing to locate here, it seems the word is starting to spread. The Davie County Chamber of Commerce is giving you a chance to highlight the businesses, services, and destinations that make Davie County so appealing with its “Best of Davie Awards.”

This component of the Chamber’s iSHOPDavie initiative offers residents and visitors alike the chance to nominate and vote for the “cream of the crop” among the county’s business and non-profits. Cast your vote today at www.daviechamber.com.

Davie County Chamber of Commerce President Carolyn McManamy sees the awards as a means for residents to let folks know why they’ve chosen Davie County as their favorite place to live, work, shop, dine, and conduct business.  “This is just another way for us to make a connection with iSHOPDavie and give the community an opportunity to share what they love most about Davie County,” says McManamy. “More than 1500 votes were cast last year, and we would love an even greater response this year.”

Besides showcasing everything from voters’ favorite restaurants to “The Kitchen Sink Award,” McManamy hopes the competition will be a fun way for residents and businesses to connect in a special way. “We hope businesses will use the promotional materials we have designed on social media and at their businesses to invite their customers to nominate them,” she says. “And we want individuals to rally together and show support for others in the community who are deserving of a Best of Davie designation.  What better way to show appreciation for a business, organization or person in the community than to nominate them for a Best of Davie award?”

Voting is underway now but ends on December 15th at noon so vote now for Best of Davie!  Winners will be announced and honored at the Davie Chamber 47thAwards Gala & Annual Meeting on Thursday, Jan 19th. You may nominate and vote for “candidates” in sixteen different categories. This year’s categories are: Best Professional Service Provider, Best Place to Shop, Best Civic/Nonprofit, Best Golf Course, Best Vineyard, Best Place to Get Fit, Best Photographer, Best Place to Get Beautiful, Best Place to Worship, Best Landscaper, Best Medical/Dental or Vision Practice, Best New Business, Best Place for Your Pet, Best Place to Work, Best Restaurant, and The Kitchen Sink Award. The Kitchen Sink Award is new this year and allows voters to nominate a business they feel is worthy of recognition but doesn’t fit into a specific category.
