veterans coffeeThe monthly Veterans’ Coffee will be held in Mocksville this Thursday, April 2nd from 8:30‐10:30 am at Sagebrush Steakhouse, 1562 Yadkinville Road.  This is a monthly event scheduled for the first Thursday of each month.  Veterans have the opportunity to meet, share stories, and enjoy informal presentations by community organizations in Davie County.

Don Timmons, Event Coordinator and Vietnam veteran, explained Hospice & Palliative CareCenter’s involvement. “We are inviting local veterans to enjoy these Coffee events as our way of saying thanks for your service, to provide an opportunity for fellowship and camaraderie and also to offer access to local resources that our veterans may not be aware of.”

Around the country and here in North Carolina similar events are being held to provide veterans a place to gather and for local health and human service organizations to show their support by offering a casual environment where veterans can meet and learn about services available to them.

Through “We Honor Veterans”, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and Veterans Administration (VA), Hospice & Palliative CareCenter is better serving our veteran and their families.

Please join us in saying “Thank You!” to Sheet’s for providing pastries, Sagebrush Steakhouse for providing space and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) for hosting these events as part of its “We Honor Veteran’s”  program along with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) and the Hospice and Palliative CareCenter.
