Apply Now for Town of Mocksville and Davie County Tourism Grants in 2024!

on January 17, 2024

The annual grant cycles for Davie County Tourism and Town of Mocksville Tourism are now accepting applications for the year 2024. Submissions from both non-profit and for-profit organizations are welcomed.

Opportunity to Apply for Both Grants

Caroline Moser, president of Davie Chamber, and Jennifer Evens, director of marketing and community development for Mocksville, want to ensure that applicants are aware they can apply for grants from both organizations. Applying to both Davie County and Mocksville Tourism provides financial leverage for your event, contributing to economic gains for both the County and the Town of Mocksville, while also establishing a tourism destination.

Davie County Tourism’s County-Wide Initiatives

The Davie Chamber actively promotes community engagement through county-wide tourism initiatives, utilizing the Discover Davie County website and the Davie County Visitor Center. Moser highlights that a substantial portion of the Chamber’s tourism budget, funded by the county’s hotel occupancy tax, directly supports local organizations, contributing to the unique charm of Davie County through tourism grants.

Grant applications undergo a thorough review by the Davie County Tourism Advisory Board, comprised of business leaders dedicated to the development and marketing of tourism attractions, assets, and potential sites, with a focus on encouraging economic development through travel and tourism.

Mocksville Tourism Welcomes Proposals for Visitor Attractions

Downtown Mocksville hosts numerous events each year, and the Mocksville Tourism Development Authority (MTDA) welcomes grant proposals not only for these events but also for special projects designed to attract visitors to both Downtown Mocksville and Davie County.

Evens encourages event organizers to share their ideas, emphasizing financial support for events that bring people to Downtown and Davie County. The grants, funded through the Town’s portion of the county’s hotel occupancy tax, are reviewed by the MTDA, consisting of representatives from Mocksville Town Board, Davie County Tourism, and local business owners.

Some notable events and organizations that have received Davie County Tourism or Mocksville Tourism grant support in the past include the RiverWalk Arts Festival, concerts at Davie County Community Park, a food truck rodeo, Cycling Davie events, COGNITION Davie, the Park at Lake Louise, and RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls.
