Celebrate 30 Years! – Mocksville to Hold Arbor Day Celebration on April 29th

The Town of Mocksville will be celebrating its 30th year as Tree City USA and Arbor Day 2023 on Friday, April 28th. You are invited to attend the recognition ceremony at 10 a.m. in the gym of the Davie Family YMCA, 215 Cemetery Street.   During the celebration, Mayor Will Marklin will read the Arbor Day proclamation, and Ranger Michael Huffman from the North Carolina Forest Service will present the Tree City USA 2022 Award.  Because of the rainy forecast, Huffman will present a short tree-related program for students from Mocksville Elementary School in lieu of planting trees at Rich Park […]

Davie County Breaks Ground on New Cooleemee Water Treatment Plant

Last week Davie County and the Towns of Mocksville, Cooleemee, and Bermuda Run broke ground on their most significant collaboration yet: a $50 million state-of-the-art water treatment plant that will serve all residents of Davie County.  State-of-the-Art Water Treatment Plant Will Serve All of Davie County Davie County owns and operates the Cooleemee Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in southern Davie County, with an intake on the South Yadkin River.
