on October 2, 2025
Two people grill hot dogs and buns at Public Safety Day in Downtown Mocksville. The man, wearing a black shirt with a sheriff's badge, and the woman, in a navy shirt and gloves, prepare food. Tents, people, and a fire truck are visible in the background.

Get ready for an afternoon of family fun, live music, and community spirit — all for FREE! Join us in Downtown Mocksville on Saturday, October 4th, from 3–8 p.m. for Public Safety Day, a celebration packed with activities, giveaways, and entertainment for all ages.

Hosted by Davie County’s First Responders and Community Partners

This exciting event is hosted by the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with local fire agencies, EMS, the Fire Marshal’s Service, and the Davie County Rescue Squad. These dedicated teams will have personnel and equipment on display, allowing families to meet the men and women who keep our community safe.

You’ll also find displays and activities from many state agencies, including the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Guard, and more!

Three people in Army uniforms stand under a North Carolina Army National Guard tent at a Public Safety Day event in Downtown Mocksville. Civilians, including children, gather and interact near an inflatable obstacle course in the background.

Fun for the Whole Family

From the moment the festivities kick off at 3 p.m., there will be something for everyone to enjoy!

At Public Safety Day in Downtown Mocksville, a boy in a blue shirt throws a ball at a dunk tank target, sending water splashing as the woman inside raises her arms. Another boy watches the outdoor Saturday event in the parking lot.

Kids and families can look forward to:

  • Bounce houses
  • Dunking booths
  • Games for all ages
  • National Guard obstacle course
  • Bicycle rodeo
  • Emergency services exhibits with free goodies for the kids

Local non-profit organizations will also be on-site with handouts, helpful resources, and engaging activities for all ages.

Enjoy Free Food and Great Music

No need to pack a picnic — everything is free, including hot dogs! While you eat, enjoy an incredible lineup of live music:

  • Mocksville southern rock band, Jack of Diamonds, kicks things off at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Band Tess, Mocksville’s hometown variety cover band, will keep the energy going with rock, R&B, and country starting at 6 p.m.

Bring your lawn chair, settle in, and enjoy an afternoon of live local music and good company.

A Celebration of Community

Public Safety Day is all about celebrating the partnerships that make Davie County strong. It’s a great opportunity for families to meet first responders, explore emergency vehicles, and learn more about public safety while having fun together.

Two fire trucks are parked on a street for Downtown Mocksville’s Public Safety Day; one has an extended ladder reaching a rooftop with people on the platform. Several people stand nearby, and buildings are in the background under a clear Saturday sky.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our sponsors:
Davie County, Town of Mocksville, Town of Bermuda Run, Town of Cooleemee, IGNITE DAVIE, COGNITION, The Dragonfly House, Davie Community Foundation, Davie Senior Services, Davie County Public Library, Smart Start of Davie County, and the Davie County Chamber of Commerce.

We hope to see everyone there — and don’t forget to share the news so we can make this year’s turnout the best yet!
