David Bone Resigns as Davie County Manager

Resignation Effective Immediately                                                                                                             

Davie County Manager, David Bone, resigned Friday, February 25, 2022, effective immediately.  The Davie County Board of Commissioners met and accepted Mr. Bone’s resignation.  Mr. Bone has served as County Manager since December 21, 2020.  He has served a total of 19 years as a local government manager, having also served as the County Manager in Martin County (NC), and Town Manager in Wendell, Elizabethtown, and Chadbourn (NC).

 The Board of County Commissioners would like to thank Mr. Bone for his service. “It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the Davie County Manager,” said Bone.  “Davie County is a wonderful organization and community with great people and assets.  Davie County has a bright future and I wish the county all the best moving forward.”

 Former County Manager, Mike Ruffin, has agreed to serve as Interim County Manager until a new manager is hired.  Ruffin will begin on Monday, February 28.
