Get ready for an exciting night of bull riding, barrel racing, Mutton Bustin’ and more when the Davie County Classic Rodeo returns to Mocksville on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Presented by MTB Productions & Rodeo, the event will be held at Davie County Community Park, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the show beginning at 7 p.m. Organizers promise an action-packed evening featuring professional contestants, top-level cowboys and plenty of serious bucking livestock.
But for MTB Productions & Rodeo, bringing the rodeo back to Davie County means more than simply adding another event to the schedule. This is home.
Bringing the Rodeo Back Home
Davie County is where it all started for MTB Productions & Rodeo. Local supporters believed in the event from the beginning and helped organizers get it off the ground.
Since then, MTB Productions & Rodeo has grown and traveled, bringing rodeo action to audiences in other communities. Coming back to Davie County is a chance to return to where that journey began — and to put on a great show for the community that supported them from the start.
Bull Riding, Barrel Racing and Mutton Bustin’
For anyone who has never been to a rodeo, bull riding is worth seeing in person.
The goal sounds simple: stay on the bull for eight seconds. But when the chute opens and a powerful bull comes out bucking, those eight seconds can feel like a lifetime.
Barrel racing brings a different kind of excitement as horse and rider race the clock around a cloverleaf pattern of barrels. Speed and precision are both important, and fractions of a second can make the difference.
Then there is Mutton Bustin’, always a crowd favorite, as some of the evening’s youngest competitors climb aboard a sheep and hang on as long as they can.
With music, cheering fans and plenty of action in the arena, the Davie County Classic Rodeo is designed to be fun for longtime rodeo fans as well as families experiencing their first rodeo.
Giving Back to the Community
Supporting local organizations is another way for MTB Productions & Rodeo to give back to the community that supported the event from the beginning. This year’s event will support the Davie County Chamber of Commerce and Davie County Rescue Squad, along with additional community partners.
