Davie County Public Library Resumes Regular Business Hours

Good news book lovers, the Davie County Public Library has resumed normal business hours at both the Mocksville and Cooleemee locations! 

The Mocksville branch is open:

  • Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
  • Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Mockville branch is located at 371 N. Main St. Mocksville and can be reached at (336) 753-6030. 

The Cooleemee Branch is open:

Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and is closed for lunch each day from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

The Cooleemee Branch is located at  7796 Hwy 801 S. Cooleemee and can be reached at (336) 753-6049.

Upcoming Programs

In addition to books, newspapers, magazines, videos, and audio recordings, the library offers a wealth of special programming for both children and adults. 

Here are just a few of the upcoming live and virtual offerings: 

Youth Programs 

Preschool Storytime – (Ages 3-5) Every Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. Join Mrs. Viviana every Wednesday for Preschool Storytime. Registration is required. To register, visit HERE.

Storytime at The Station – First and Third Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. Join us at The Station for a Wednesday Storytime! There will be stories, crafts, and activities. 

Morning Movers – (Ages 0-3) Every Friday, 10:00 a.m. Join Mrs. Viviana for Morning Movers every Friday morning. There will be songs, fun, stories, and movement! Registration is required. Go HERE To register.

Cooking with Vivi – Veggie Stuffing November 12th, 2:00 p.m. Join us virtually and learn how to make simple recipes with Viviana! For the month of November, we will be making a veggie stuffing! Be sure to tune in on our Facebook page.

 T(w)een Pinterest – November 16th, 4:00 p.m. Join Mrs. Viviana at the library where we will be making lavender sugar scrub! 

Adult Programs

Let’s Write – Every first and third Monday, 4:00 p.m. Virtually join us every first and third Monday of the month to share your writings. Each week, we will provide a prompt and on the following Monday, we will share our writings with each other. You do not have to write to be a part. Tune in HERE and listen to amazing stories. All are welcome to participate.  

Wellness Wednesday – Tea & Chat November 18th, 2:00 p.m. Join us on November 18 at 2:00 p.m. for a conversation on various teas and their effect on our health. Registration is required. Call 336-753-6033 or email jbaylor@daviecountync.gov to register. 

#WeReadTogether Book Club – November 30th, 5:00 p.m. #WeReadTogether is a virtual book club that is centered on the voices and experiences of marginalized and underrepresented groups. We meet virtually every month to discuss our readings. Registration is required. Go HERE to register online. This month we will read There There by Tommy Orange.
