Big matchups and a chance to close out the season with bragging rights
The Carolina Disco Turkeys are preparing to take the field in a brand-new postseason format as they headline the Blue Ridge Invitational, a round-robin collegiate summer baseball tournament hosted at Rich Park in Mocksville, NC, beginning July 29th.
The Disco Turkeys, based out of Wake Forest University’s Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, will play the prime-time game each evening at 6:30 p.m., taking on a talented field of rivals: the Catawba Valley Stars, Uwharrie Wampus Cats, and Marion Hungry Mothers. Each roster features standouts from all levels of college baseball, including several Division 1 athletes. Among the Disco Turkeys is pitcher Braeden Rodgers, a proud Davie County native.
“We’re excited to get all of these teams together for a competitive postseason tournament in a good venue that’s central to all the teams,” said Disco Turkeys president Greg Sullivan. “These will be highly contested games, and it’s great to wrap up the season with a tournament so players have an opportunity for bragging rights.”“
The Blue Ridge Invitational format guarantees each team three games, with tie-breakers determined first by head-to-head results and then by fewest runs allowed.
Game admission is $8 per day, covering both the afternoon and evening games—an excellent value for fans who want to catch up-and-coming baseball talent and enjoy classic summer ballpark vibes.
