Get ready for an exciting fitness extravaganza – the Main Street Mocksville Superhero Sprint and Main Street 5K are just around the corner on Saturday, October 28th. These thrilling events are perfect for participants of all ages, encouraging everyone to step outdoors, get active, and have a blast together!

The Superhero Sprint

Kickstart your morning at 9 a.m. at 185 N. Main Street (The Station) with the Superhero Sprint! This high-energy race is tailored for kids aged 2 to 12. Let your young superheroes don their capes and dash towards victory along the Main Street route, covering approximately 100 yards.

While our dedicated volunteers will be on hand, we recommend parents who prefer to accompany their children to the finish line do so. Parents will be responsible for reuniting with their children at the finish line.

Packet pick-up is scheduled from 8 to 8:45 a.m., with the race commencing at 9 a.m. Don’t delay; secure your spot by registering online. Please note that event-day registration is not guaranteed, so early registration is advised. The first 150 registrants will receive a unique superhero cape as a bonus!

The Main Street 5K

Following the exhilarating Superhero Sprint, the Main Street 5K will take place at 10 a.m., starting at 185 N. Main Street. This event serves as a tribute to our remarkable first responders, medical personnel, and frontline workers who tirelessly serve our community.

Packet pickup runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m., and the race kicks off at 10 a.m. The 5K route spans from Main Street to the scenic Rich Park trails, concluding at the corner of Main and Depot.

Note: Packet pick-up for Davie County GO FAR will be separate from the general race pick-up and registration. Please reach out to your runner’s coach for any inquiries.

Post-Race Celebration

Following the races, all participants are invited to the awards ceremony and post-run celebration at 11 a.m. at The Station. Enjoy refreshments and live entertainment along Main Street.

Davie County GO FAR and Davie Smart Start: This Year’s Beneficiaries

For each event, Main Street Mocksville selects a charity aligned with its mission to support. This year, the net proceeds of these events will benefit Davie County GO FAR and Smart Start of Davie County.

GO FAR is a national program dedicated to helping 2nd to 5th-grade students cultivate healthy lifestyle habits while preparing for a 5K race. This 100% volunteer-based organization runs programs in elementary schools across Davie County twice a school year. Since 2012, hundreds of kids have taken part in the Davie County GO FAR program. Last year alone, 219 students and parents from the program signed up for the Main Street 5K race.

Smart Start of Davie County strives to ensure that young children enter kindergarten in good health and prepared to excel in school and life. The organization fosters community connections through initiatives that guarantee quality early education, health, and family support for all children from prenatal to kindergarten in Davie County.

Sponsors, like Davie County Tourism, are thrilled with the impact of the event. “The Main Street 5K brings so much energy and excitement to our downtown,” said Caroline Moser, president of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. “You know an event is successful when it engages people from all over the community and different states to participate.”

Don’t miss out on these exciting events! Register for both the Superhero Sprint and Main Street 5K here. Stay in the loop with Main Street Mocksville Events by following us on Instagram, Facebook, and at https://www.mainstreetmocksville.com
