KidsFest is back! After two years of getting creative with how to “safely” present the event, KidsFest will be held in person, outdoors, at the Davie County Community Park, 151 Southwood Drive, Mocksville from 9 a.m. to noon, this Saturday, April 30th,  2022.

KidsFest is a free event full of fun for the whole family!  There will be car seat safety checks, inflatables, fire trucks, sheriff’s vehicles, performances by Ryan Short/magician and balloon artist, Krysta Gary/Zumba, Davie Recreation and Parks/TaeKwonDo and Toddler Enrichment, and a dance party courtesy of the Davie Family YMCA!  DJ The Mobile Jukebox will add a festive flair to the day. Over 20 child-serving agencies will be represented, each with an activity for the kids to participate in. There will even be a visit from Pete the Cat!

Sunset Slush will be selling slushies and the Masonic Lodge will be selling hot dogs, fries, and drinks with proceeds benefiting the Oxford Children’s Home.

This free community event is sponsored by Smart Start of Davie County in conjunction with Davie County Recreation and Parks and will occur rain or shine.  The goal of KidsFest is to provide a fun day of learning for children and to raise awareness for the services and activities available to families of young children in Davie County.

“KidsFest is a fun-filled festival that has become a favorite annual tradition for kids of all ages!” said Gena Taylor, executive director of Smart Start of Davie County. “We thank the many community agencies that partner with Smart Start of Davie County to host this event. We encourage families and child care providers to join us for a fabulous day with lots of interactive activities and learning!”
