Independence Day is just around the corner and our community has activities promising fun for all ages! There will be fireworks, musical entertainment, and a parade to celebrate our nation’s 246th birthday! Come out with family and friends and enjoy these exciting events!
Mocksville Independence Summer Concert and Fireworks
With live music followed by fireworks, this year’s Independence Day Celebration at the Davie County Community Park will be a wonderful way to spend your evening.
When: Saturday, July 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
Where: 151 Southwood Drive, Mocksville
The evening will kickoff with the Funk, Blues, Psychedelic Rock and Jam of Marvelous Funkshun, at the amphitheatre on the civic green from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Featuring soaring guitar and pedal steel over a heavy groove, Marvelous Funkshun’s show is a dynamic, foot-stomping musical adventure that’s sure to please.
Headliner The ToneZ will take the stage from 7:30-9:30 p.m. offering their own special blend of Beach, Dance, and Rock favorites that you won’t want to miss! The ToneZ are the complete package with a killer horn section, six lead vocalists and energy that doesn’t stop!
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating and welcome to bring their own food. Vendors will also be on-site, including the Davie County High Band Boosters, the Snack Wagon, Sharky’s Ice Shack, Anna’s Sweet Treats, and Jacob & Mabrey’s Gourmet Cotton Candy.
Fireworks will light up the sky after the concert! Guests will not want to miss the spectacle! Please note that unless you are sitting inside the park, it will be difficult to view the show.
Free Concert and Fireworks Display
This is a free community event and no pre-registration is required. Please remember that alcohol is not permitted in the park at this time. Please refrain from bringing your four-legged friends. Cooleemee Lawn Mower Parade & Independence Day Celebration
Join the Town of Cooleemee on Monday, July 4th, to celebrate Independence Day with food, activities, and the annual lawn mower parade! This patriotic event sponsored by the Town of Cooleemee grows each year as entrants decorate a wide variety of lawn mowers, bicycles, golf carts, and floats. Walkers are welcome, too.
When: Monday, July 4th from 10 a.m. – noon. Parade lineup begins at 9 a.m.
Where: 136 Marginal Street, Cooleemee, NC 27014.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Cooleemee Elementary School on Marginal Street and wind its way up and down the quiet streets of Cooleemee until it reaches the Zachary House/Town Hall. Follow along the parade route and enjoy a stroll down the historic and picturesque streets lined with great old shade trees and historic mill homes, or bring your lawn chair and view the parade along Marginal Street.
After the parade, stick around for more fun!

- Slip and slide for all ages to enjoy till noon.
How to Participate in the Parade
Anyone can participate by lining up a patriotically decorated lawn mower, float, car, bicycle or pet. To be in the parade, arrive at the school at 9 a.m. for lineup.
