Free Lunch and Learn Offers Veterans Information on Benefits and Support

on August 13, 2026

Veterans and their caregivers are invited to attend a free Lunch and Learn event later this month in Mocksville, which will provide information on VA benefits and support services available to those facing serious illness. Carolina Caring and Lambert Funeral Home are partnering to host “Serving Those Who Served: Understanding Hospice Care & VA Benefits” on Thursday, August 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home.

During the event, Carolina Caring Director of Veteran Relations Cindy Stamey will share information about veterans’ benefits and explain how hospice care programs can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families. The presentation will draw on Carolina Caring’s extensive experience serving veterans and their caregivers.

The event is free, but seating is limited to 30 participants and advance registration is required. Veterans, family members, and caregivers can reserve a spot by calling Lambert Funeral Home at 336-751-1100.

Carolina Caring is a nonprofit healthcare provider that offers hospice care, palliative medicine, primary care, and grief counseling services throughout western North Carolina and the Charlotte region.
