
Get ready to dance, sing, and soak up the sunshine—free live music is back in Davie County! The Town of Mocksville and Davie County Recreation and Parks are proud to present a stellar lineup of free summertime concerts that promise fun for the whole family. From rock and country to soul and beach music, these shows are set to deliver unforgettable nights under the stars.
Concerts on the Square: Live Music in Downtown Mocksville

Downtown Mocksville will once again come alive with the sound of music during Concerts on the Square, a popular series of free outdoor shows near Restaurant 101. Hosted on the quad on North Main Street, these concerts run from June through September and feature a wide variety of musical styles:
- Saturday, June 21st, 7 p.m. – Nu-Blu
- Saturday, July 19, 7 p.m. – Moxie
- Saturday, August 16, 7 p.m. – The Band Tess
Nu-Blu kicks things off on June 21st with a powerful blend of American bluegrass and country. Hailing from North Carolina, this nationally recognized group has released four Top Ten Billboard albums and is known for their emotionally rich, acoustic-driven performances.
On July 19, bring your dancing shoes for Moxie, a high-energy band that fuses funk, rock, R&B, and soul. Inspired by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Tina Turner, Moxie turns any space into a party—don’t miss this downtown dance fest!
Then on August 16, groove with The Band Tess as they bring blues, beach, funk, rock, and country to the stage. Known for their diverse setlists featuring everyone from Michael Jackson to Jimmy Buffett, this hometown favorite is sure to have you on your feet.
All concerts run from 7–10 p.m. on the square next to Restaurant 101. Bring a lawn chair for seating. No coolers, but alcohol will be available for purchase on-site. Sponsored by the Town of Mocksville.
Concerts in the Park: Davie Community Park Summer Series
Join Davie County Recreation and Parks for another summer of music at Davie County Community Park. The 2025 Concerts in the Park series will take place on the green and feature four incredible nights of live performances:
- Saturday, June 7, 7 p.m. – David Lee Murphy / Caroline Keller
- Saturday, July 5, 7 p.m. – Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot / His & Hers
- Saturday, August 2, 7 p.m. – Tigirlily Gold / Sofie Lynn
- Saturday, September 6, 7 p.m. – Chris Taylor & The Rumor / The Resistance
The series kicks off June 7th with Caroline Keller, a country storyteller with timeless melodies and heartfelt lyrics, followed by headliner, country legend David Lee Murphy, best known for his hit “Dust on the Bottle” and chart-topping songs written for superstars like Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan.
On July 5th, local husband and wife folk duo His & Hers opens the show with their signature blend of bluegrass and Americana. Headlining the night is Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot, a genre-blending party band that brings soul, funk, beach music, jazz, and more. Their extensive repertoire appeals to audiences across generations, featuring both timeless classics and contemporary hits.
The series continues on August 2nd with powerhouse acts Tigirlily Gold, a sister duo whose lively shows have captivated audiences across the Midwest and Nashville’s famed Broadway, and headliner Sofie Lynn, a rising star whose heartfelt songs have been featured on Yellowstone, HGTV, and OWNTV. Her newest single, “Getting Hitched (The Bachelorette Song),” has struck a chord with brides all over the world, with nearly a million views on TikTok and climbing. Sofie Lynn’s music closely follows her life, as she tells stories of her own journey from the heartbreak of losing her grandma to the excitement of getting married.
Finally, wrap up your summer on September 6 with The Resistance, a rock band with a love for the big ballads and anthems of the ’80s and ’90s, followed by the electrifying Chris Taylor & The Rumor, whose wide-ranging setlist includes hits from the ’70s to today.
Admission is FREE! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Coolers and picnic baskets are allowed, and food trucks and concessions will be on-site for added convenience.
