The market also proudly participates in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) and has begun donating fresh produce to the Serving Our Neighbors group, extending its impact beyond the market.

“Our goal is to provide opportunities for farmers to sell their fresh produce, meat, eggs, honey, and plants to local people,” said Carolyn Shoaf, the market’s director. “As 1 Peter 4:10-11 reminds us: Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others… so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

Why Farmers Markets Matter

Healthier Choices, Straight from the Farm

Produce from local markets is harvested at its peak—meaning better flavor, more nutrients, and no long-distance transport or artificial ripening. Many vendors offer organic and pesticide-free options, giving you a cleaner, healthier food source.

Keep Your Dollars Local

Shopping local supports family farms and helps the Davie County economy thrive. When you buy directly from the grower or maker, more of your money stays right here in the community—strengthening businesses, creating jobs, and fueling future growth.

Build Community Connections

Farmers markets are more than a place to shop—they’re a place to connect. Whether it’s chatting with your favorite vendor, seeing familiar faces, or discovering something new each week, these markets help build stronger, more connected communities.

Make visiting Davie County Farmers Markets a part of your weekly routine. You’ll eat better, spend smarter, and support a healthier, more sustainable way of life—for yourself and your community.
