Honoring Martin Luther King, Junior

on January 16, 2022

Almost 60 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. On Monday, Davie County will honor that dream and his legacy with a virtual celebration of his life.

The Davie County NAACP is hosting a virtual program of dance, recitation and music featuring youth and young adults from the community at 2 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Keeping the Dream Alive,” or “What Having a Dream Means to You.”

Harold Moore of Maxx Promotions will provide the music.

Join the Zoom at 2 p.m. with ID: 850 5561 9706, Passcode: 955985.

Please note: the annual parade of cars has been cancelled due to the forecasted inclement weather.

To enjoy a comprehensive collection of Dr. King’s most significant correspondence, sermons, speeches, published writings, and unpublished manuscripts, visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University.
