Mocksville’s Summer Movies in the Park 2023

Davie County is brightening our 2023 summer season with more movies in the park.  These incredible events will be hosted in Main Street Park and Davie County Community Park over the next few months. These family-friendly events are full of wholesome entertainment that you and your loved ones definitely don’t want to miss. The summer movies series are full of a variety of films and opportunities to enjoy your loved one’s company in the comfort of our beautiful community. Below are the behind-the-scenes details about these events and movies. We look forward to seeing you there! Movies at Main Street Park

Event details:

Cost: FREE
Time: 8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Location: Main Street Park, 192 N. Main St. Mocksville
Dates: June 16, July 21, & August 18

Movies at Main Street Park are back and better than ever! This movie series has been a staple of summertime in Mocksville for a few years now and continues to add joy to our community during the warmer months.  The movies are FREE, open to the public, and tickets are not required. Don’t forget to bring your own seating and snacks, or plan to buy a few downtown.  Also, a parent or guardian is required to stay with their children throughout the entire movie. Come early because there are restaurants, shops, and treats within walking distance from the park that will make your time sweeter! Minions: The Rise of Gru (PG) is coming to the park! Bring the snacks and the kiddos to downtown Mocksville to watch the Minions. This adventure-packed movie is perfect for the family to come to enjoy all that the beautiful town of Mocksville has to offer. This must-see movie kicks off the summer movie series. Before you join the show, don’t forget to support our local downtown businesses, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Puss in Boots The Last Wish (PG) is a story you and your family can’t miss! This family-friendly movie is full of adventure and laughs for all ages. The film is full of well-known and loved characters. Bring the family, friends, and kiddos to the park to enjoy a night on the town. This park movie series is located in the heart of Mocksville, which is full of shopping, dining, and social spots for all ages! Join us for some wholesome fun that creates lasting summer memories.

August 18, 2023 

DC League of Super-Pets (PG) is bringing an adventure to you this summer! This film is the grand finale of the 2023 Movies in the Park series, and it is an action/adventure film with an outstanding cast. This film has an incredible lineup of voice actors, like Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and many more! Join us for our final summer movie while enjoying the beautiful atmosphere that the town of Mocksville has to offer!

Davie County Recreation and Parks is hosting movies for all ages this summer season. Family fun in the park has been a staple of this facility since it opened its doors. Below is a detailed schedule for these events.

Drive-In: June 23, 2023

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (PG-13) is ready to keep you and your loved ones on the edge of your seats. This supernatural comedy/fantasy movie was released in 2021 with several well-known actors. Join us while we watch Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and many more take us into the ghostly realm. Bring your family and friends down to the park to enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere! Movies in the Park: July 28, 2023 

Moana (PG) is a Disney classic coming to brighten your summer bucket list! Join us for a fantastic Disney adventure in the park. Moana is a well-known musical that so many of us know and love! Come down to the park for snacks and sing along with some of the best Disney characters. You definitely don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to sing, dance, and enjoy your loved ones’ company in the comfort of our own beautiful community. 

Movies in the Park: August 25, 2023

Jungle Cruise (PG-13) is a thrilling movie with some of your favorite actors to keep you guessing what will happen next! Adventure awaits in the park for you and your loved ones. Jungle Cruise is a Disney movie with a great cultivated cast and an adventurous plotline. This is an event you will want to add to your summer bucket list! So come on down to the park for snacks, good memories, and great entertainment.

Drive-In: September 29, 2023

Top Gun: Maverick (PG-13) was a viral movie that created an uproar when it hit theaters in 2022. This action/adventure was all the rage last year! Join us for the final summer movie of the season at the Davie County Community Park. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the drive-in show. This movie has continued to have good ratings from movie critics and is a must-see film. Bring a friend and enjoy the summer’s grand finale!
