Truist Sports Park in Bermuda Run has been ranked 7th in SportsEvents Media Group’s “Top 10 Soccer and Lacrosse Facilities in the US.

According to the May 2024 issue of SportsEvents Magazine, the ranking of the top soccer and lacrosse facilities results from the active participation of its readers. Each year, readers of the sporting events planning magazine can vote for their favorite facilities over a month-long period by liking, commenting, and sharing photos of their choice on social media. Once the voting period concludes, the top 10 are featured in a print version of SportsEvents.

Truist Sports Park, formerly BB&T Sports Park, hosts NC Fusion, a dynamic sports program for youth and adults. The sports haven features 15 fields, including 11 Bermuda grass fields and four artificial turf fields, 11 with lights, catering to a diverse range of sporting needs. The facility hosts sporting events and programs throughout the year, including soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, and running events. The park’s stadium, with a seating capacity of 1,400, is versatile enough to host premiere tournaments and significant events.

Off the field, Truist Sports Park also has a playground as well as a picnic shelter that can seat 200 people.

Scott Wollaston, CEO of NC Triad Fusion, Inc., commented on the recent designation. “NC Fusion is so proud to be recognized as having 2 of the top 10 soccer and lacrosse facilities in the country by Sports Events Magazine. Truist Sports Park in Bermuda Run was built by volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners who saw a vision for the impact that a sports facility could have on the surrounding area, but they also entrusted future leaders, such as myself, to keep improving the facility and increasing the community and economic impact.  At Truist Sports Park, the support from Davie County over the past 20 years has been incredible, and we share this award with them. Now, we must keep improving and investing in the facility not just to stay on this list but to move up the list!”

Further demonstrating the quality of the facility, in December 2023, Truist Sports Park was named the home facility for Salem City FC of United Soccer League 2, formerly NC Fusion USL2. The team is a member of the amateur/ semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada.

According to Wollaston, all home games will be played in the stadium at Truist Sports Park. “Our NC Fusion USL Women’s team, “The Greys,” will also be playing at Truist Sports Park several times this summer, and we would love to see the support from the Davie community!  It’s a really high level of soccer, and the environment around the games is super family-friendly!”
