Join Mocksville’s Sidewalk Initiative: Your Opinion Matters
The Town of Mocksville is dedicated to improving connectivity and walkability in its downtown area, and they need your input to make this vision a reality. Your feedback is crucial in determining the future of our community as we plan our upcoming sidewalk projects.
During the Town’s annual budget retreat, the Board of Commissioners committed to a new sidewalk project aimed at increasing connectivity and accessibility across the town center. With funding from the general fund, this initiative represents a significant step towards achieving the goals set in our 2019 Comprehensive Plan, which envisions Mocksville as a lively, pedestrian-friendly destination for both residents and visitors.

Enhance Downtown Connectivity: Share Your Preferences
The project will focus on four key segments, each designed to improve the seamless flow and accessibility of the downtown area:
- From the roundabout down Wilkesboro Street to Meroney Street
- From Valley Road down Wilkesboro Street through the roundabout to the Senior Center
- From the roundabout up Yadkinville Road to Walgreens
- From Main Street down Milling Road to the Northridge Apartments
“Your opinion matters! We encourage all Mocksville residents, businesses, and stakeholders to participate in ranking these segments according to your preferences. Your feedback will guide us in prioritizing which areas to develop first, ensuring that our efforts align closely with the community’s needs and desires,” said Town Manager Ken Gamble.
Community Input Needed for Downtown Sidewalk Projects
Whether you’re a daily walker, a weekend runner, or simply passionate about the town’s future connectivity, your input is vital to shaping Mocksville’s landscape for future generations.
Please forward your comments and rank the possible sidewalk projects from 1-4, with 1 being your top priority and 4 being the last, to kgamble@mocksvillenc.gov.
