Davie County’s summer movie nights from both the Town of Mocksville and Davie County Recreation and Parks are here! Bring out family and friends for local outdoor cinematic entertainment.
Town of Mocksville Movies held at 192 North Main Street
- Saturday, July 17 @ 8:30 p.m. – Trolls World Tour
- Saturday, August 21 @ 8:30 p.m. – Abominable
On July 17, don’t miss DreamWorks’ comedic animated musical, Trolls World Tour. Trolls World Tour is a sequel to 2016’s Trolls, but don’t be afraid to come out if you haven’t seen the first one! Rated PG, Trolls World Tour takes audiences on a journey through diverse music genres and family-friendly comedy. This movie was met with overall positive reviews as a well-animated, colorful movie with fun songs to sing along to.
And on August 21, the Town of Mocksville will be showing DreamWorks’ Abominable, a lighthearted, animated adventure with family-friendly comedy mixed in. From the creators of “How to Train Your Dragon”, Abominable is rated PG, and centers around three kids on an adventure to return a Yeti to his home. Abominable was met with critical acclaim and is a must-see for animated movie lovers.
Please bring your own chair or a blanket for seating. The movies are FREE, open to the public, and tickets are not required. Bring your own snacks or purchase from local restaurants! The movies will be shown outside at Main Street Park at 192 North Main Street. A parent or guardian is required to stay with children throughout the entire movie. - Friday, July 30 @ 7 p.m. – Raya and the Last Dragon
- Friday, August 27 @ 7 p.m.- The Croods: A New Age
Showing June 25, Big Hero 6 is a Disney animated adventure following an inflatable Robot “Baymax” and a group of friends as they band together to form a group of heroes and uncover a mystery. Big Hero 6 is rated PG and is highly rated from critics and audiences alike.
Following on July 30, Raya and the Last Dragon is a new Disney movie full of beautiful animation and family-friendly messages. Set in the mythical land of Kumandra, the main character Raya sets on a quest to find the last dragon and save the world. Raya and the Last Dragon is rated PG, and is loved by fans and critics alike.
And finally on August 27, The Croods: A New Age is a DreamWorks animated sequel to the popular film, The Croods, and follows a prehistoric family on their adventures rivaling another family, the Bettermans, as they search for a place to settle. Rated PG, this sequel was positively received with high reviews, and fans of the original will not be disappointed!
The movies will be shown on the Civic Green at 151 Southwood Drive. Please bring your own chairs or blankets for seating. The movies are FREE, open to the public, and tickets are not required. Concessions will be sold on-site, and you may bring your own food as well. The movie lot opens at 7 p.m. but all movies will begin at dusk.
