The Hollingsworth Companies is taking advantage of the recent dry weather to begin construction on two new speculative industrial buildings in Mocksville. These facilities are being built for long-term lease by light manufacturing or distribution companies in the SouthPoint Industrial Park – North Carolina.
The buildings will be constructed at 130,492 SF and 152,241 SF to expand the park to 12 single-tenant industrial buildings. With 40 years of project experience from Virginia to Mississippi, The Hollingsworth Companies has completed Build to Suit and “Spec” industrial building projects in multiple markets throughout the Southeastern United States.
The Hollingsworth Companies has been a long-time partner of the Mocksville community since the introduction of the area’s first industrial park in 1997. “I would like to thank the community for being willing to invest time, effort, and money into being a true partner and for their willingness to support us with the development of the SouthPoint Industrial Park,” said Owner and CEO Joe Hollingsworth.
Terry Bralley, president of the Davie County Economic Development Commission, added, “When we were initially looking for a private partner to shoulder the risk of speculative industrial development, we couldn’t find anyone locally who would take the risk in a small town like Mocksville, but over in Tennessee, we met the Hollingsworth Companies, and not only were they willing, they were enthusiastic, and they still are 25 years later.”
“The partnership between The Hollingsworth Companies and our community has led the way to attracting and growing new businesses and creating jobs in our county for decades. Joe Hollingsworth showed us the way to better prepare our community by providing industrial product that companies need.”
Strategically located off Hwy 601 N., adjacent to I-40 between I-85 and I-77, the SouthPoint Industrial Park offers a prime location for manufacturing and distribution companies. Serving the Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro metropolitan areas, this convenient location enhances accessibility and enables businesses to cater to a wide customer base. Current tenants, representing hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in investments, include Larson, Gesipa Fasteners, Metal Sales Manufacturing, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, Entrematic, Scott Bader, Palltronics, Concordance Healthcare Solutions, and Guidecraft.
“Our 25-year public/private partnership has developed into a rare and cherished catalyst to economic development in Mocksville and Davie County,” Bralley added. “We are super excited to see the expansion of the SouthPoint Industrial Park; it means there will be more good news to come. Stay tuned…”
