Quality Control Standards Unique to the Aviation Industry
Carolina Precision Machining, Inc., a Davie County manufacturer of precision machine parts for the aviation and other industries is training employees for AS9100 certification. AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. Major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide require compliance and/or registration to AS9100 as a condition of doing business with them.
Quality control standards for the aviation industry require manufacturing tolerances unique to aviation. Carolina Precision Machining manufactures machine parts with tolerances measured in microns ~ one-millionth of a meter. A human hair is between 70 and 100 microns thick.
Steve Vick, Founder and President of Carolina Precision Machining said that “We are currently doing a substantial amount of manufacturing for the aerospace industry. This workforce training program and the AS9100 certification will allow us to expand our customer base, and as demand grows, to expand our workforce.”
Team Effort Brings New Jobs to Davie County
Terry Bralley, President of the Davie County Economic Development Commission said, “The Incumbent Workers Training Program is designed to help local businesses expand their service offerings and to grow their workforces.
