Celebrate Davie County
Throughout the day, the news station will feature segments of the entire county including; Advance, Bermuda Run, Cooleemee, Farmington, Kinderton, and Mocksville. We need YOU, your company, your school, church, civic group, family and friends to be represented. Come on out to the square in Mocksville wearing your school colors, logo clothing, etc. and bring a sign with a positive message to showcase Davie County. Display a sign or banner representing the group you are with.
For the past month, residents of Davie County have probably seen a lot of WXII12 News vehicles traveling across the county covering some wonderful stories that will air on December 11th. Many of the stories cover the rich history of Davie County such as 3rd generation family owned business, the Joppa Cemetery where Daniel Boone’s parents are buried, and a long forgotten local gem that brought Davie County teenagers together way before social media came into play.
WXII will also focus on some of the amazing charities, first responders, and folks who make Davie County a great place to live.
Of course the WXII12 anchor team loves to have some fun! They will show highlights from their first year competing in the “Twas the Night Before Bed Races” in Mocksville. Chief Meteorologist Lanie Pope, Kimberly Van Scoy, Nicole Ducouer, and Chris Lea had a blast racing, and they’re already working on a better strategy for next year’s race.
Did you know Wanda Starke has never played golf? Well she’s getting her first lesson at Bermuda Run Country Club. And Lanie Pope transforms from “Chief Meteorologist to the “Cake Boss” as she works in a local bakery.
Non perishable food items and donations will also be collected by the news team for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Please join us under the oaks, on the town square in Mocksville to show thousands of viewers that we are the best spot in the Piedmont to live, work and play!
