Nationally Recognized Nonprofit Brings Expanded Support Closer to Home

Residents of Davie County now have increased access to high-quality, compassionate care as Carolina Caring expands its services into the community.

Serving Western North Carolina and the Charlotte region, Carolina Caring has spent more than 45 years supporting patients and families facing serious illness. As one of the first hospice organizations established in North Carolina, the nonprofit continues to evolve its services to meet the growing needs of the communities it serves.

Expanded Services for Davie County Residents

With this expansion, Davie County residents now have access to Carolina Caring’s full continuum of accredited services, including:

  • Palliative Medicine
  • Hospice Care
  • Pediatric care through Cardinal Kids
  • Bereavement support
  • Community grief programs for both adults and children

In addition, Carolina Caring offers specialized programs designed to address complex health needs, including Advanced Cardiac Care, Advanced Lung Care, and Dementia Care. The organization also participates in the CMS GUIDE Model, enhancing care for patients living with dementia.

A Commitment to Excellence and Innovation

Carolina Caring’s expansion follows a period of significant growth and national recognition. In early 2025, the organization earned accreditation from the Community Health Accreditation Partner, along with CHAP’s “4M’s of Age-Friendly Care” certification.

Its pediatric program, Cardinal Kids, also became the first hospice program in North Carolina to receive CHAP’s “Pediatric Care at Home” certification—further reinforcing the organization’s leadership in compassionate, specialized care.

Carolina Caring’s dedication to quality has also earned recognition as a Hospice Honors organization by CAHPS, as well as being named one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for seven consecutive years.

Supporting Families Every Step of the Way

“Serious illness can be burdensome for a family, but by expanding our care to Davie County, more people will find expert support and comfort closer to home,” said Christina McNally. “We’re truly honored to serve this community, helping patients and families navigate serious illness with confidence, dignity, and the reassurance that they don’t have to face their diagnosis alone.”
