What Is Touch-A-Truck?

Touch-A-Truck is COGNITION’s biggest annual fundraiser, drawing more than 1,000 attendees last year. This free community event gives families the opportunity for a hands-on, up-close encounter with a wide array of vehicles!

Touch-A-Truck promises a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids of all ages to explore a multitude of vehicles, including public service, emergency, utility, transportation, recreational, farm, construction, and other awe-inspiring trucks – all gathered in one convenient location! The Touch-A-Truck showcase will unfold across the street in the Mocksville Town Hall parking lot and along Salisbury Street.

The event also features carnival-style games and prizes, food trucks, and activities with special guests such as the Davie County Library. While admission is free, donations of any amount are welcome, with a suggested $5 per person to help support COGNITION’s nonprofit mission. Thanks to generous local sponsors, the day is filled with excitement, play, and community connection.

Event Details

On Saturday, September 27th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Downtown Mocksville will be transformed into a vibrant hub of imagination, discovery, and learning.

Since its launch in 2019, COGNITION’s Annual Carnival and Touch-A-Truck has become a cherished tradition in Davie County, bringing families together for hands-on fun and exploration.

Why It Matters

More than just a day of play, the event serves as COGNITION’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds directly support the organization’s mission to provide innovative, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning opportunities for children and families throughout the year.

Community participation—whether through attendance, donations, or sponsorship—helps ensure the continuation of these impactful programs.

Colorful event flyer featuring photos of kids playing, trucks, and carnival games. Text reads: “COGNITION Touch-A-Truck and Carnival, Saturday, 9/27, 10AM-2PM, Downtown Mocksville.” Banners, balloons, and gear graphics add festivity.

Community Sponsorship

The success of Touch-A-Truck & Carnival would not be possible without the support of local sponsors. COGNITION is grateful for the businesses and organizations that invest in its mission and help bring this event to life. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for those who would like to make a lasting impact on this year’s event and on the future of learning in Davie County. Learn more about sponsorships HERE
