Discovering Our Heritage Brings Cooleemee’s Past to Life for First Graders

First-grade students at Cooleemee Elementary stepped back in time during the Cooleemee Historical Association’s annual “Discovering Our Heritage” program. Through hands-on activities like churning butter, planting corn, feeding livestock, washing clothes by hand, and collecting eggs, students experienced what daily life was like in Cooleemee during the 1930s.
