Families in Davie County facing difficult circumstances will have added support thanks to a recent $20,000 grant awarded to Family Promise of Davie County.

The funding, provided by Clayton, will help ensure that local families can remain safely housed during times of crisis—offering stability when it matters most.

The grant is part of a larger $2 million contribution from Clayton to the national Family Promise network. The funding stems from the continued partnership between the two organizations through the initiative A Future Begins at Home, which focuses on preventing homelessness and helping families quickly regain stability.

Since launching in 2019, the initiative has helped generate more than $14 million in additional funding, supporting over 43,000 families nationwide.

Here in Davie County, that impact is personal.

“This investment from Clayton allows us to step in at critical moments—keeping families in their homes, keeping children in their schools, and preserving a sense of stability when it matters most,” said Stephanie Chandler, executive director of Family Promise of Davie County. “We see every day how quickly a family can fall into crisis—and how transformative it is when someone steps in to help. We are deeply grateful for a partnership that gives families in our community the chance to stay housed and move forward with dignity.”

Beyond financial support, Clayton has also made a tangible impact by donating 20 homes to the Family Promise national network since 2019. These homes are primarily used as transitional housing, allowing families to remain together while receiving case management and support services on their path toward permanent housing.

Organizations like Family Promise of Davie County continue to play a vital role in the community—working quietly behind the scenes to provide not just shelter, but hope, stability, and a path forward for families who need it most.
