FREE Pesticide Collection is Happening This Week

Free Pesticide Collection Day This Wednesday, October 28th 

Do you have old pesticides taking up space in your barn, garage, or storage shed? 

Dispose of them for free on Wednesday, October 28th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Yadkin County Landfill at 1149 Landfill Rd. 

This free event is sponsored by the NC Cooperative Extension in conjunction with the NC Department of Agriculture and is available for Yadkin, Davie, and surrounding counties. 

The pesticide products that will be accepted include:

  • Herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and rodenticides
  • New, unopened and partially-used products
  • Banned & outdated pesticides

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • Paints and other hazardous waste
  • Unknown products
  • Products that are not labeled
  • Products not in pesticide containers

Large Containers & Questions

If you would like to dispose of containers over 5 gallons in size, pressurized pesticide gas cylinders, or products with unreadable or missing labels (keep any portion of the label for help with identification), please contact the Yadkin County Cooperative Extension Center at (336) 849-7908 for instructions.
