Funder America, Inc. has installed a new multi-million dollar production line for powder coated wood products in Mocksville, NC.  Located at 200 Funder Drive in Mocksville, this multi-million dollar investment will create 40 new jobs.

Davie County Location Strategically Important
“Mocksville was an easy decision for this state-or-the-art production facility,” said Peter Funder, President of Funder America, Inc.

“The productivity of Davie County’s skilled and stable workforce helps us keep labor costs low and our strategic location, within minutes of I-40, I-77 and I-85 helps us keep transportation costs low,” said Funder.

“Being a low cost producer has allowed Funder America to continue investing in the future, creating jobs and opportunity for people in Davie County.  Mocksville has been home to Funder America since 1973 and they have had stable employment,” said Terry Bralley, President of the Davie County Economic Development Commission.

2010 Investment in Environmentally-Friendly Virus and Bacteria Resistant Products
Funder America, Inc. has invested several million dollars during 2010 preparing to manufacture a new line of powder coated wood products.  The powder coating process has distinct environmental advantages to traditional liquid paint coatings.  Powder coating overspray is recycled in-process which reduces waste to near zero.  In addition, powder coated products are resistant to viruses and bacteria making them ideal for healthcare, education, food service and household environments.

Powder coated wood products exhibit long term humidity and moisture resistance which makes them an ideal replacement for traditional painted wood in applications where water resistance is important.

Funder America Products are Fully Recyclable, Biodegradable and FDA Approved
Today, Funder America, Inc. in Mocksville is one of the two largest sites in North America where panels with melamine resin impregnated decorative paper, thermally fused to particleboard or medium density fiberboard (MDF) are manufactured.  The Melamine panels manufactured in Mocksville are environmentally friendly, fully recyclable, biodegradable, and FDA-approved for direct food contact.
