Lee Jeans Consolidation Means More Jobs for Davie County

Lee Jeans GraphicVF Corporation, a global apparel leader headquartered in Greensboro, NC selected Davie County as the single point of distribution for Lee Jeans to all US markets, increasing the volume of Lee Jeans shipped out of the Mocksville facility.   This brought an additional 50 jobs to Davie County with the possibility of more jobs by year end.  Currently there are 430 associates at the Lee Jeans distribution facility in Mocksville.  As a result of this consolidation, every pair of Lee Jeans, from Maine to Florida, New York to Alaska is now shipped out of Mocksville to retailers throughout North America.

“Davie County is conveniently located within a 12 hour drive of 60% of the US population.  Lee Jeans acknowledged their productive work force in Mocksville and the strategic location on I-40, within minutes of I-77 and I-85 made Davie County the smart choice for the Lee Jeans distribution center” said Terry Bralley, President of the Davie County Economic Development Commission.

Lee Jeans Celebrates 20 Years in Davie County
Lee Jeans just celebrated 20 years in Davie County where they play an important role in the community.  They are a major contributor to Davie County United Way, Davie County Relay for Life, Davie County Domestic Violence Services, Smart Start, Storehouse for Jesus, and many other charitable organizations.

$75,000,000 Raised to Fund Breast Cancer Research
Lee Jeans has also raised over $75,000,000 to help fund breast cancer research programs through Lee National Denim Day, established in 1996 as part of national breast cancer awareness month.

Founded in 1889 by Henry David Lee as the Lee Mercantile Company in Salina, Kansas, Lee Jeans was purchased by VF Corporation in 1969.  The Lee Jeans Distribution Center in Mocksville operates 7 days per week at a 500,000 square foot facility across from Davie County High School and beside the Davie County Campus of Davidson County Community College.

Relationships Build Visibility and Recognition for Davie County
Recent growth in the Site Selection Consulting industry is evidence of the long term strategic importance of location decisions made by companies both large and small.  Building strong relationships with organizations like the Piedmont Triad Partnership, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and site selection consultants from around the world is helping get the word out about Davie County as a great place to locate a business.
