Red, White & Cool: 4th of July Fun Across Davie County

on June 24, 2025
Three children join the Cooleemee July 4th Parade; one drives a small red tractor adorned with American flags, pulling a wagon with two more kids and a “Happy 4th” sign. A large green farm vehicle follows in this lively community celebration.

Start the Celebration with Cooleemee’s Lawnmower Parade

Kick off your Independence Day with a one-of-a-kind tradition in the Town of Cooleemee! On Friday, July 4th, locals and visitors alike will gather for a festive morning full of creativity, community, and cool rides.

Where: Cooleemee Elementary School, 136 Marginal Street, Cooleemee, NC
When: Friday, July 4th, 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The annual Lawnmower Parade is the highlight of the morning, featuring an eclectic lineup of decked-out lawnmowers, golf carts, classic cars, walkers, motorcycles, and more. Don your red, white, and blue, bring a lawn chair, and line Marginal Street to cheer on the parade!

Afterward, join the fun at the Zachary House for summertime treats. Enjoy free watermelon and popsicles, purchase a hot dog and a drink, and let the kids cool off on a slippery Slip-n-Slide.

Want to be in the parade? No registration or fee is required. Just show up at the school by 9 a.m. For details, contact Cooleemee Town Hall at 336-284-2141 or email scorriher@cooleemee.org.

A festive flyer with red, white, and blue patriotic banners announces a fun Independence Celebration on July 5, 2025, with event time and images of two music groups, hosted by Dare County Recreation & Parks for a post-4th of July party.
