SBA Opens First U.S. Furniture Factory in Mocksville, Bringing Jobs and Growth to Davie County

on November 4, 2025
Lithuania’s SBA Home North Carolina has begun production at its 500,000-square-foot factory in the Davie Industrial Center in Mocksville.

SBA is officially up and running in Mocksville! The Lithuanian furniture giant has launched its first U.S. factory, producing its first batch of furniture and marking the start of full-scale operations.

A Milestone for Lithuania and Our Community

“This is a tremendous achievement not only for SBA Group and our team, but also for Lithuania as a whole,” says Jurgita Radzevičė, CEO of SBA Home. “We have started completing the largest Lithuanian business investment project in the U.S. and met the extremely tight deadlines set at the start of the project. It proves that even in times of uncertainty, with the right expertise, dedication, and detailed planning, it is possible to achieve even the most ambitious goals.”

Terry Bralley, president of the Davie County Economic Development Commission, adds, “We are thrilled to welcome SBA Home to Mocksville. This investment brings hundreds of high-quality jobs, strengthens our manufacturing heritage, and shows the world that Davie County is ready for global business. It’s a proud day for our community.”

$70 Million Investment Creates 250 Jobs

The SBA Home North Carolina facility represents a $70 million investment and will employ around 250 people in roles ranging from manufacturing and warehousing to administration and management. Jobs at the plant pay an average of $53,470 annually—well above the county’s average salary—and the facility could contribute over $13 million per year in local payroll.

Combining Local and Global Expertise

Since June, the 500,000-square-foot plant has undergone extensive testing to ensure top-quality production. SBA Home brought in experienced furniture professionals from Lithuania—including operators, engineers, and technicians—working alongside local employees to ensure a smooth launch.

“The start-up phase was absolutely critical,” says Radzevičė. “That’s why we assembled a top-tier team of professionals from both Lithuania and the U.S. to ensure everything ran as efficiently as possible. I’m deeply grateful to everyone for their commitment and hard work.”

A trusted IKEA supplier for more than 30 years, the Mocksville facility will expand this relationship by producing new collections of customizable shelving units, including the popular Kallax storage cubes and Billy bookcases.

High-Tech Manufacturing for a Modern Workforce

The Mocksville facility is highly automated, producing approximately 380 pieces of furniture per hour. This modern, robot-assisted approach mirrors SBA Home’s advanced operations in Lithuania and positions the plant as a cutting-edge production center for ready-to-assemble furniture.

Global Reach, Local Impact

SBA Home is the largest division of Lithuania’s SBA Grupe UAB, exporting furniture to 50 countries and employing more than 3,000 people across four factories. The company has been a trusted IKEA supplier for over 30 years. The Mocksville plant will expand production of popular items, such as Kallax storage cubes and Billy bookcases, and will serve the U.S. market directly.

With this major investment, Davie County gains not only jobs and economic growth but also recognition as a destination for global business and advanced manufacturing.
