A Rising Country Duo Taking the Stage in Mocksville

Country music fans are in for a treat when husband-and-wife duo The Dryes (Derek and Katelyn) takes the stage at the Brock Performing Arts Center in Mocksville on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Opening the show will be talented young local artist Jacob Mitchell.

A Year of Milestones for The Dryes

In addition to their busy touring schedule in 2025, The Dryes will be featured in Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony, a nationwide tour co-produced by Dolly herself. Country Living Magazine dubbed them “the new hot country duo to watch” after their appearance on Season 22 of NBC’s The Voice (Team Blake).

Their star power has only continued to rise, with over 12 million global streams, celebrated debuts at CMA Fest and the Carolina Country Music Festival before a crowd of 35,000, and multiple singles—including the sassy “Dolly Would” and the soulful “House on Fire”—hitting #1 on CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown by fan voting.

Touring Success and Hit Releases

The Dryes recently toured as direct support for Jo Dee Messina on her national “Heads Carolina, Tails California Tour.” While on the road, they landed a summer partnership with Cheerwine, and Derek secured a spot as an official PRS Guitars artist.

Their latest two EPs, Raisin’ Beers & Hallelujahs and Dear Heart, reflect the full spectrum of their artistry. As the duo describes it: “If Raisin’ Beers & Hallelujahs is the Saturday night, then Dear Heart is the Sunday morning.” Their summer single “daydrinkin’” also made waves, charting on iTunes release day and amassing more than 5 million views across social media. With so much momentum, there’s no slowing this powerhouse pair.

Introducing Jacob Mitchell

Opening the night is Jacob Mitchell, also known as Jmitch, a 19-year-old country artist from Advance, North Carolina. Though he has only been playing guitar for three years, Mitchell has already released four original songs on all major streaming platforms. His debut single, “Stressed From Trying,” dropped in October 2024, showcasing his ability to blend honest lyrics with country soul.

A young man stands on a wooden dock by calm water, playing a black acoustic guitar—a scene reminiscent of performers like Jacob Mitchell from the Brock Performing Arts Center. He wears a gray t-shirt, light blue jeans, and white sneakers in the soft evening light.
