Two women and two children pose outside a shop at the Downtown Mocksville Pirate Party. One child is dressed as a pirate, while the other, a baby in a headband with a bow, is held by her mom. Both women wear headscarves.

Ahoy, mateys! Grab your tricorn hats, polish those peg legs, and shine your mermaid scales—it’s time to celebrate the return of the Pirate Party in Downtown Mocksville! This free family event will take place on Saturday, September 13th, from 1–4 p.m., rain or shine.

Treasure Hunt Through Downtown

Sail down Main Street in search of treasure! Start by picking up a map from any downtown merchant, then make your way along the trail, stopping at each business for a special treat. Once you’ve completed your map, turn it in at one of the three merchants marked with a red “X” to be entered into the prize drawing.

An open wooden chest filled with gold coins, colorful gems, and beaded necklaces sits on the forest floor at the Mocksville Pirate Party. Nearby, a map with a red "X" is partially visible among the leaves and dirt.

Games, Photo Ops & Family Fun

The Pirate Party promises swashbuckling games and photo opportunities to capture your crew in their finest costumes. Whether you arrive as a daring pirate, a shimmering mermaid, or a little bit of both, you’ll find plenty of fun along Main Street—from Lydia Jaynes to the Quad and down East Depot Street. Participants can hop on the treasure trail at any point along the way.

A Growing Mocksville Tradition

This family-friendly adventure was a community favorite last year, and the Downtown Mocksville Collaborative (DMC) is thrilled to host it again for the fourth year in a row.

“The positive response from last year’s event, mixed with the excitement from the community about this year, is sure to make for another fun-filled Pirate Party,” said Monica Stone-Huggins, president of the DMC. “The outpouring of support and excitement from the community brings a lot of visitors to Downtown Mocksville, many of whom have never been here before!”
