Mebane Foundation Issues Challenge Grant to Support Davie County Smart Start

Instead of kicking up their heels, Davie County residents are being challenged to click a link. In lieu of its 10th Annual Hometown Hoedown, Smart Start of Davie County is partnering with the Mebane Foundation to promote early education initiatives in Davie County. The EnergyUnited Foundation announced a new, historic campaign to donate more than $100,000 to local food banks throughout its 19-county service territory. The ‘Drive to SHINE’ Campaign will provide critical assistance to 25 food banks to fight rising levels of food insecurity brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mocksville’s downtown mural is accomplishing what it was commissioned to do — attract attention to downtown Mocksville. “The Running of the Horses” became an official Pokestop in the “Pokémon GO” mobile game in December. This month it is featured in the February issue of The Destination Magazine. “Destination is a monthly publication with over 4.5 million readers annually. Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic This Friday at Davie County Community Park Davie County Health and Human Services (DC HHS) will hold a drive-thru vaccination clinic this Friday, January 15th from 10 a.m – 2 p.m at the Davie County Community Park, 151 Southwood Drive.
