A History of Hospitality: Welcome to the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room

The James M. Johnson House in Farmington, built in 1891, has been known as a place of hospitality for more than 100 years. Now that legacy continues as the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room. Laura Mathis, affectionately known as Mrs. Laura, commemorated her grand opening on Friday, January 20th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. Farmington Community Center Anniversary Celebration

Davie County’s rich history runs deep within our community, and one group of people that help keep that  history alive while also providing for the future is the Farmington Community Center. This October, the Community Center is celebrating 50 years since it’s conception in 1971, and 100 years since the first school was constructed on the property in 1921.
