The holidays are on their way, and Mocksville is ready to light up the season with two of its most beloved community traditions — the “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race and the Hometown Christmas Parade! These family favorites bring laughter, creativity, and plenty of holiday cheer to downtown. Don’t miss your chance to take part in the fun — gather your team, decorate your float, and register today!

Ready, Set, Go! “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race

Friday, November 21, 2025, at 6 p.m.

Get your team together for one of the most hilarious and heartwarming holiday events in Davie County! The “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race, hosted by the Mocksville Tourism Authority, transforms Main Street into a festive racetrack as teams dressed in costumes push decked-out “beds” toward the finish line.

It’s all about speed, style, and spirit — and there’s $700 in cash prizes up for grabs! Businesses, churches, nonprofits, and groups of friends are all welcome to join the fun. Whether you race or cheer from the sidelines, this event is sure to get everyone in the holiday mood.

Prizes Include:

  • Speed Division: 1st $200 | 2nd $125 | 3rd $75
  • Creativity Awards: $100 each for Most Team Spirit, Most Original Design, and Best Overall Theme

This annual event has marked the holiday kick-off for the Town of Mocksville since 2012 and is now one of the most well-attended and popular events the Town hosts! The unique event has been covered by local media, including several local news stations and radio shows.

Celebrate the Season at the Hometown Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2 p.m.

Bundle up, grab a cup of cocoa, and head downtown for Mocksville’s Hometown Christmas Parade, a cherished holiday tradition that brings the whole community together! This year’s theme, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” promises festive floats, music, and performances that will delight parade-goers of all ages.

Local businesses, schools, churches, civic groups, and individuals are invited to join the lineup and help spread some Christmas cheer.
