The annual Four Oaks Festival, a free community event will be held in historic downtown Mocksville on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 from 10 am to 6 pm.
This all day street festival will include a variety of vendors, crafts, holiday gifts, activities for children and live music throughout the day.
Performers at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theatre will include Tony Montieth from 12-12:45 PM, the April Waller Band from 1-2:30 PM, Legend from 2:45-4:30 PM and Don Story and the Fried Peas from 4:45-6 PM. Bring lawn chairs for concert seating at Junker’s Mill.
The festival will be followed by musician Jamie Carroll performing from 7 to 8:30 pm under the oaks near Restaurant 101 on the town square.
Hometown Quilts of Davie
On the same weekend, the Davie County Quilt Guild will host the “Hometown Quilts of Davie” quilt show on October 12th and 13th from 9 am to 5 pm at the Brock Gym located at 644 North Main Street in Mocksville. Admission is $5 per person with children under 12 admitted free.
The event will include over 150 traditional and modern quilts, challenge quilts and lots more. There will be sewing, quilting and fiber vendors from all over North Carolina; demonstrations, silent auctions, door prizes and food.
Quilts will be on displayed throughout the town two weeks prior to event

A Hometown Quilt will be raffled off and residents of historic downtown Mocksville are encouraged to display quilts outside their home the day of the show.
Davie County Quilt Guild Provides Blankets & Quilts During Times of Crisis
The Davie County Quilt Guild has been in operation since 1999. The Guild has presented quilting demonstrations and finished quilts at Farm Day in Mocksville, Heritage Day in Cooleemee, for the Preservation Society at the Peter Hairston Farm and for children in hospitals. The Guild continues to serve Davie County with providing blankets and lap quilts for the Davie County Sheriff’s Department and the Mocksville Police Department. The officers keep a blanket or quilt in the trunk of their cars to give to a child or adult in crisis.
