Summertime Concerts are Music to Your Ears

It’s time to welcome back the beloved tradition of summertime concerts in Davie! Live music returns this summer as the Town of Mocksville, Davie County Recreation and Parks, and the Davie County Arts Council, in partnership with the Town of Bermuda Run, offer a multitude of free concerts that are sure to have you singing and clapping along. 

With a mix of country, rock, beach music, and everything in between, these performances are sure to get crowds grooving, ensuring unforgettable summer nights of family-friendly fun for everyone.

Town of Bermuda Run Series: 

The Davie County Arts Council and the Town of Bermuda Run invite you to join them for their 2024 Summer Concert Series. Grab your lawn chair, your picnic basket, and most importantly, your dancing shoes! We can’t wait to see you there.

  • Saturday, May 25, 7 p.m. – Tams (Rain Date – May 26)
  • Saturday, June 15, 7 p.m. – The Entertainers (Rain Date – June 16)
  • Saturday, August 31, 7 p.m. – EnVision (Rain Date Sept. 1)
  • Saturday, September 14, 7 p.m. – Special Occasion Band (Rain Date Sept. 15)
  • Saturday, September 28, 7 p.m. – North Tower Band (Rain Date Sept. 29)

To kick off the summer, the Town of Bermuda Run and Davie County Arts Council welcome the Tams to the stage. Entertaining audiences for over 50 years, this group has toured with some of the greats like Stevie Wonder and Jimmy Buffet! Their beach music is a fusion of smooth soul and R&B and is sure to get you moving. Take a listen here.

Continuing with the theme of R&B and soul meets beach music, The Entertainers come to Bermuda Run on June 15th. This group will also sprinkle in classic rock & roll and country, giving audiences a little bit of everything.

EnVision will perform in downtown Mocksville on July 20 and at the Bermuda Run Town Center on August 31.

EnVision will take the stage on August 31. This group brings together funk, R&B, soul, and pop for an electrifying performance. Their silky-smooth harmonies and powerhouse vocals are sure to deliver a high-energy evening of fun you won’t soon forget!

On September 14, the Special Occasion Band will bring beach music and classic all-time favorites to Bermuda Run. This band from Winston-Salem will be sure to get you grooving and remind us what the magic of summertime is all about!

The last group of the series is not to be missed. North Tower will provide beach, funk, and classic oldie hits with sizzling brass and captivating vocals. This party band will be sure to ring in the sweet sounds of summer as the series comes to a close on September 28th.

Admission to the concerts is FREE and open to the public! All concerts will be located at the Bermuda Run Town Center on Kinderton Boulevard off Highway 158. Bring your lawn chair and your picnic cooler! 

Concerts on the Square:

The fun continues in downtown Mocksville with their Concerts on the Square! Mocksville hosts free monthly outdoor concerts in the quad near Restaurant 101 from June through September, filling the historic downtown with the sound of music:

To kick off the summer, Mocksville welcomes The Band Tess to the stage on June 8 for a performance of blues, beach, county, funk, and rock. Their show will have you grooving to everything from Michael Jackson to Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles. This variety cover band features Davie County locals – be sure to give them a hometown welcome!

EnVision will take the stage on July 20 for an electrifying performance. This “party band” combines funk, R&B, soul, and pop with a dynamic horn section, bass and drums, and four vibrant female vocalists. Their silky-smooth harmonies and powerhouse vocals ensure a high-energy evening of fun you won’t soon forget!

On August 17, get your groove on as Moxie turns downtown Mocksville into a dance floor. Moxie’s music is a fusion of funky groove and rock, bringing together high-energy dance music, R&B, soul, and funk of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. If you like artists like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, or Tina Turner, this band is for you. For anyone who loves to dance, you don’t want to miss this!

Set sail with Camel City Yacht Club on September 28 for the last concert of the summer. These five musicians bring together the finest of smooth rock of the ’70s and ‘80s, hailing as North Carolina’s ultimate “Yacht Rock Band.”

This FREE series is sponsored by the Town of Mocksville. All concerts are held on the square next to Restaurant 101 on North Main Street and will run from 7 – 10 p.m. Bring your lawn chair for seating! No coolers are allowed, but alcohol will be available for purchase on-site. 

Davie Community Park Summer Concert Series: 

The Davie County Recreation and Parks invites you to join them for a summer of music on the green! Parks and Rec is excited to keep your summertime filled with tunes with these four amazing acts. The 2024 Concerts in the Park series kicks off on June 8th:

The 2024 Concerts in the Park Series will kick off with back-to-back performances from Ryan Perry and Diamond Rio on Saturday, June 8, at 7 p.m. It will be a night you won’t want to miss!

Hailing from Western North Carolina, Ryan Perry will kick off the concert series with all things country. With an unforgettable voice and contagious charisma, this singer’s passion for country is sure to entertain country-loving crowds of all ages. Headliner Diamond Rio has been bringing American country to crowds for over 30 years. Equipped with guitar, banjo, fiddle, and powerful vocals, this Nashville-based group has topped the Billboard charts and will finish out the evening with a bang.

Next on the lineup is the Band of Oz and Raquel & The Wildflowers on Saturday, July 6. Raquel & The Wildflowers will open the night with high-energy rhythm and country rock music. Their energetic performances have landed them on country festival stages around the country. With powerful lyrics and storytelling, this group is sure to remind you of life’s adventures and might just even fuel your wild side.

Headlining the night is the Raleigh-based group Band of Oz, a dynamic eight-member act energizing crowds with Carolina beach music. Their shared love of music brought these once high school musicians turned professionals to be inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame. Whether is shag, soul, or R&B, this crew is sure to get you on your feet.

On August 3rd, crowds will be greeted by more stellar performances with Smoke and Mirrors and Chris Taylor & The Rumor. 

Smoke and Mirrors will bring more energy to the stage that night with Neo-Classic Party Rock. If you like Beastie Boys, 3 Doors Down, or Metallica, this act is for you! The energy this trio brings to their covers of Neo-Classic rock hits is sure to make for a fun evening.

Chris Taylor & The Rumor is a variety cover band that plays everything from rock to soul and pop. This crowd-rouser ensures a memorable and lively experience for every audience, playing all of your favorite hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and “everything Mama warned ya about!” 

Braden Hull will open for Little Texas on September 7 for the final concert of the summer.

Braden Hull, a country artist from a small town in North Carolina, will open the final summer performance. His lyrics tell stories everyone can relate to, captivating audiences with songs about love, death, and heartache. With his larger-than-life personality and ultra-smooth vocals, Braden Hull will give Mocksville an evening to remember. 

The “Hardest Working Band in Country Music,” Little Texas exclusively writes, records, and performs original songs and has earned multiple Grammy nominations. This rockin’ country band will bring a night full of hits and a high-energy performance to the stage as it closes out the season with an unforgettable show. 

Admission is FREE, and no pre-registration is required. Individuals are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating! Coolers or picnic baskets are allowed, with food trucks and concessions available onsite for purchase.
