A Celebration of Partnership and Community
The spirit of partnership was on full display in Mocksville as SBA Group, which recently launched furniture manufacturing operations in town, officially opened six new public pickleball courts at Rich Park as a gift to the community.
Joined by Mocksville Mayor Will Marklin, company leaders celebrated the opening with a ceremonial first serve—a symbolic start to what both sides describe as a long-term, meaningful relationship.

Investing in More Than Jobs
The new courts reflect SBA Group’s desire to invest not only in local jobs, but in the quality of life for the families who call Mocksville home. From the beginning, company leadership emphasized that they wanted to be more than just a manufacturer operating in the area — they wanted to become part of the community.
“We wanted to show that we are not just another business operating in the area,” said Angelika Matczak, CEO of SBA Home North Carolina. “Our goal is to become a meaningful part of the community and to build long-term relationships based on openness and partnership. I believe that everyone who comes to play here will be able to feel the culture and values SBA Group brings with it.”
A Strong Corporate Partner for Mocksville
Mayor Marklin said the Town of Mocksville has already seen that commitment firsthand.
“Before they even opened their manufacturing facility here in town, they asked town leaders what they could do for our community,” said Marklin. “We couldn’t ask for a better corporate partner than SBA Home. We look forward to our ongoing relationship and wish them continued success as they produce furniture here in Davie County.”
During the ceremony, Marklin and Matczak exchanged signed paddles after serving the first volley, marking the beginning of what both described as a strong and lasting partnership.

Courts Designed for All Ages and Skill Levels
The project includes six newly built courts constructed to modern recreational standards. The courts provide a safe and welcoming space for players of all ages and skill levels. The courts are open to the public.
