Bring your shagging shoes, good friends & family, and a hearty appetite to Downtown Mocksville for Summer Beach Days this Saturday, June 16th. This free concert will be held from 6-10:30 p.m. at Junkers Mill Outdoor Theater, 107 S. Salisbury St.
Enjoy a little Blues, Beach, Country, Funk, and Rock with hometown band, Tess & the Black & Blue from 6 -7:30 p.m. Founded in 2014, this multi-talented group features Davie County locals Tess Welch – Vocals; Grady McClamrock – Rhythm guitar; Gary Chilton – Lead guitar; Ken Simonds – Bass; Jerry Smith – Keyboards; and Darren Boles – Drums.
Back by popular demand, you’ll want to stay and Twist & Shout to the Beach and Motown stylings of Silk Groove from 8 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Silk Groove is an eleven-piece show band made up of multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated musicians and vocalists featuring live horns, bass, keyboard, guitar, drums, and vocals. The band’s impressive musical repertoire spans from the 50s to today with songs from favorites like Michael Jackson, Journey, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, the Drifters, Temptations, and Maroon 5.
Bring your lawn chairs. Food, alcohol, and beverages will be available for purchase. No coolers please.
The Mocksville Rotary club will be collecting canned goods and nonperishable foods for A Storehouse for Jesus.
