The Davie County Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that Ron Wanek, Chairman of the Board of Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. will be the featured speaker at the upcoming 43rd Awards Gala & Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 4th at the WinMock at Kinderton in Bermuda Run.
After meeting with the Governor of North Caorlina earlier that day, Mr. Wanek is scheduled to share his vision for Ashley Furniture’s newest facility here in Davie County as well as the incredible history and stories of success that led Ashley Furniture Industries to become the global leader in the furniture industry.
“We are very excited to welcome Ashley Furniture Industries to Davie County and we are honored that Mr. Wanek will be speaking at our Annual Awards Gala.” said Carolyn McManamy, President of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. Ashley Furniture Industries will quickly become one of the largest employers in Davie County.

Kyle Swicegood, Chairman of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce, said “This is going to be an exciting night and what a better place to celebrate the achievements of our Chamber than the “Barn” at Winmock.” The Annual Awards Gala provides the opportunity to bring the business community together to network and celebrate the successes of the year.
Incoming Chair Elect, Lee Rollins, said, “Davie County has a lot to celebrate this year and that will make this year’s event particularly special.” The evening will also include the presentation of the prestigious awards: Business of the Year and EC Tatum Awards. New officers and Board of Directors will also be inducted.
