Looking for some family-friendly fun? Look no further than COGNITION’s Carnival and Touch-A-Truck this Saturday, September 24th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Downtown Mocksville. This event will provide the opportunity for families to experience some of the fun and engaging activities COGNITION offers all year long.

The grassy lawn will become the “Midway” with fair-themed games and contests. Inside the COGNITION building, the space will be transformed into an “Exhibition Hall” where families will be able to browse STEAM-related projects entered by local kids. There will also be other family-friendly entertainment like face painting, music, and a magician!

Have a hands-on, up-close experience with all types of vehicles!  Touch-A-Truck will provide a unique opportunity for children of all ages to explore many types of vehicles – public service, emergency, utility, transportation, recreational, farm, construction, and other “cool” trucks – all in one place!

The Touch-A-Truck showcase will be held across the street in the Town Hall parking lot and along Salisbury Street.

“We first brought Touch-a-Truck to Davie County in 2019 as part of our capital campaign to open COGNITION. After a couple of years, we are excited to bring this engaging, family-friendly event back!” said Cammie Webb, Board President.

You can find more information about this event and purchase tickets online at bit.ly/cogcarnival.

Exhibition Area Entries Needed!

Children and adults, ages 4+, are invited to submit entries to the exhibition hall! Choose from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Arts. Entries will be divided into three categories: ages 4-7, ages 8-11, and ages 12 & Up

It’s Science Fair time! Is there a specific topic you are interested in? Is there an experiment you’ve been wanting to try? This is your chance to exercise that creativity! Create a science fair style presentation on a topic of your choosing!

Do you have an eye for photography? Do you love taking pictures of everything around you? This is your time to shine! Submit original photos in one of three categories for your age group!

Are you a Lego master? Do you love building and creating new things? The engineering category is perfect for you! Submit any kind of Lego creation you want to be judged on creativity, innovation, and imagination.

Create a chicken! How creative can you be? This open-ended category allows you to exercise your creativity and create something you can be proud of! Color a chicken you print online, draw a chicken, paint a chicken, even create a 3D mixed media chicken! We want to see you put your imagination to the test.

Entry details can be found at bit.ly/cogentry.

All submissions must be dropped off to COGNITION by 5pm Thursday, September 22nd to be considered for judging.

Buy Your Tickets Today!
