Proud Community Welcomes All-America County Team Home

After winning All-America County status, Davie County’s tired but elated delegation returned home from Denver, Colorado, to a warm welcome from family, friends, and the community. Davie County, NC, has been named an All-America City by the National Civic League.  Davie County was one of 20 communities selected as finalists from across the country to compete for this prestigious award in Denver, Colorado.  The National Civic League’s All-America City Award has celebrated the best in American civic innovation since 1949. Denver Bound! Davie’s All-America City Awards Team Competes This Saturday!

After weeks of planning and preparation, Davie County’s team leaves for Denver early Thursday morning to compete against 19 other finalist communities for the honor of being named an All-America City.  The National Civic League’s All-America City Award has celebrated the best in American civic innovation since 1949. The award, bestowed yearly on ten communities (over 500 recipients in all), recognizes the work of communities in using inclusive civic engagement to address critical issues and create stronger connections among residents, businesses, nonprofits, and government leaders.  This year’s theme for the All-America City Award is “Creating Thriving Communities through Youth Engagement.” […]

Recognition Awarded to Mocksville Fire Department by North Carolina League of Municipalities

The Hollingsworth Companies Continues Industrial Expansion in Davie County

The Hollingsworth Companies is taking advantage of the recent dry weather to begin construction on two new speculative industrial buildings in Mocksville. These facilities are being built for long-term lease by light manufacturing or distribution companies in the SouthPoint Industrial Park – North Carolina.
