What could be more magical than taking an enchanted fairy walk? Dress up as a fairy, goblin, or wizard, and head to downtown Mocksville this Saturday, June 24th, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m., rain or shine, and join in the fun. After winning All-America County status, Davie County’s tired but elated delegation returned home from Denver, Colorado, to a warm welcome from family, friends, and the community. Davie County is one of only ten communities across the country to receive this prestigious award from the National Civic League this year. Davie County was one of 20 communities selected as finalists from across the country to compete for this prestigious award in Denver, Colorado. The National Civic League’s All-America City Award has celebrated the best in American civic innovation since 1949. After weeks of planning and preparation, Davie County’s team leaves for Denver early Thursday morning to compete against 19 other finalist communities for the honor of being named an All-America City. The National Civic League’s All-America City Award has celebrated the best in American civic innovation since 1949. The award, bestowed yearly on ten communities (over 500 recipients in all), recognizes the work of communities in using inclusive civic engagement to address critical issues and create stronger connections among residents, businesses, nonprofits, and government leaders. These facilities are being built for long-term lease by light manufacturing or distribution companies in the SouthPoint Industrial Park – North Carolina.
